Two College Sweet Hearts & Their Happy Wedding

Two College Sweet Hearts & Their Happy Wedding

Our Beautiful bride Rahini tells us how she planned her wedding along with the huge family who did everything to make her big day special.

My husband Manoj Kumar and I Rahini Selvan are both from the field of software and are currently working in Munich, Germany.  Our native is Coimbatore. I went onto pursue my masters in Manchester, UK and my husband did his second masters in Ilmenau, Germany. We have been in a relationship since our college days, and soon told our families about this and they happily arranged our wedding. Which simply means ours is a mix of love and arranged marriage.

Mine is a super-big family and all my cousins helped my husband and me to organize most of the events. They were the backbone of this wedding. Especially, one of my cousin sister who was extremely helpful throughout. The wedding gala started a week before the wedding. We had a small Mehendi function 2 days before the wedding and invited only our close relatives. My younger sister flew from Amsterdam to attend the wedding. My Cousin Sisters and their kids performed a surprise dance for us. We had a wonderful time having everyone around. After the mehendi function we had some rituals that continued for a week until the big day.

Marriage is a beautiful happening that binds two hearts with a golden thread called love, and yes February 16 was such a once in life time occasion, leaving us memories to treasure for life. My Dad wanted our marriage to be more traditional and so we hired the Sharadhambal Temple Mandap and the reception was held at The Residency, Coimbatore. Like every girl, I used to dream a lot about my wedding. I was super excited and started researching about each and every minute details via Shopzters when I was in Germany itself. I couldn’t wait to start the shopping, so I left earlier to make the arrangements.

The first thing we did once the date was fixed, was booking for makeup. About 7 months prior to the wedding, we booked @bridal-studio-noor#. He and his team are the best. After makeup, it was Photography. We always had @vipin# in our mind for capturing the candid moments. I and my husband have always admired their work. And yes, they kept their standards and gave us life time memories. Vipin Anna and his team were so professional gave their best. Traditional photography was taken care by our family Photographer, Sekar Anna (Bharath Stills). We also had two surprise photographers, one of my brother-in-law and another, my cousin Akash Siddharth.

For my wedding outfits, I looked for stores around the city along with my Mom and Dad. My elder sister recommended Kanakavalli and I was very much astonished when I went there. They had such beautiful and stunning collections. I bought all my Sarees for the wedding from @kanakavalli#, Coimbatore. Then I went on a lehenga hunt with my sister and after many days we found some really unique pieces at Rangoli, Coimbatore. My blouse was designed by @malibooclothing#, Race Course. I found their works more convincing and their patterns fulfilled my expectations. My Husband’s suits and accessories were from @manyavar# , Coimbatore. I picked my jewels from Prince Jewellery and chose Priya’s Wedding Collections for some imitation Jewellery. I bought some rings, anklets etc in R.S Puram.

The wedding decor was by Pallavi decorators, Coimbatore. They are a good friend of my brother so we checked with them. Their designs were so impressive so we when ahead with them. We picked our wedding invitations from Opal Cards. They had a good collection of classic designs.

To undertake some pre-wedding care, I went to Kaya skin clinic two months prior to my wedding. They are professionals and recommended peeling treatments. Also, two weeks before the wedding I underwent facials which made my skin glow throughout the ceremony.

To-be-brides shop, shop, shop until you are tired of it. This is your day and take advice from all your friends & family. At some point, you will need to rest and sit back to enjoy all the little details happening around you. Don't take too much burden to manage everything single-handedly. Relax and everything will come into place. Enjoy every moment and keep smiling.
