Rhythm of Love! - Celebrity Wedding Story of VJ Anjana and "Kayal" Chandran

Rhythm of Love! - Celebrity Wedding Story of VJ Anjana and

It is always a breeze to talk to a fun-loving celebrity about her wedding! The lovely and gorgeous VJ Anjana is sharing the most awaited details from her wedding with us here. Our wedding was a very personal affair with close family friends and relatives. It was a temple wedding in Lalithambikai Temple, Thirumeeyachur, near Mayavaram. We had our Reception at Rina's Venue, the Kerela house at ECR. Mehendi was not a very grand affair and it happened in our home. We wanted to keep it personal as our wedding is very close to our heart!

How did you both meet? We met at an award function where he received 'The Best Debut Actor' award for his performance in the movie 'Kayal'. I was hosting the show and we met like that and we had a few conversations over Twitter and everything happened.

Chandran's performance in 'Kayal' was just awesome! How is he in personal life? He is more awesome in personal life!!! He is a very good guy who understands me really well and he is more of a best friend. So, it's like, he is the perfect guy! He is talented, sweet and everything! We got engaged in a hall in Mandaveli during November last year. It was again a close family affair.

Memorable moment in your wedding: I am a big fan of Vijay sir! We invited him and he just walked in and wished us and we were all just spell-bound!!! He was all cool and casual

So, who took care of catering? For wedding and reception we had R V Caterers who has been doing for us for a long time. They are very famous for the Tam-Brahm weddings and incidently they had also done my Brother-In-Law's wedding almost 8 years back.

Your wedding outfits? All my wedding sarees were from Old Nalli Silks, T.Nagar. It has been our most favourite place for silk sarees and it took one full day for us to shop. My blouses were stitched by Bombay tailors. I have been stitching here since forever now. My in-laws stitched here for our wedding and now all of them are going to be regulars.

My reception outfit was from Surang, Cathedral Road. Anitha from there helped me out. It was a navy blue anarkali, fully sleeved and sequined. It was perfect for the reception. I didn't go for any designer, I wanted to but I thought I'll give a try because I'\ve already bought clothes from there and it just happened that I found what I wanted. His outfits and all the men in the house wore attires designed by Rafi and Nithya, who have been working for films and celebrities for a long time now and all the women got it from Surang.

Where did you pick your jewellery from? Being it a temple wedding, I didn't want to carry a lot of golden jewellery all the way from here and got all the fashion jewellery from Sowcarpet. We got on our feet and went there what with all the parking and heat, we did manage to find everything we wanted there. The wedding jewellery was from RJ Gold Covering.

Loved all your pics. Who are your photographers? Our candid photography and videography was done by Sarjun(Candid Videography) and his team(Faraz Khwaja, Vichu - Candid Photography) of One man Clix. Mr. Sarjun is the next associate of Maniratnam sir. His debut will be coming out very soon. Faraz and Sarjun are the photographers. The photos have come out really well.

By the way, who did that flawless face make up? Viji of Makeover Bronzer is the Makeup artist who did for my Engagement and Reception. She was brilliant. For all the launches and award shows I hosted, she was the one who did make-up for me. She was like a personal make-up artist from the beginning, so we just wanted her for the wedding. She was just perfect. I've seen so many people, but nothing suits me perfectly like how Viji does my makeup. I blocked her dates long back. For the wedding, I did my makeup what with all the hectic ritual timings.

Dev from Toni & Guy was the hairstylist for Chandran. He does for a lot of celebrities.

Did you engage any planners for your wedding? We just started our own wedding planning company named 'Plan B' and we took care of all the decorations and things. Our PRO was Suresh Chandra from Done Channel, who is also the PRO for Ajith sir. He took care of all the celebrity arrangements and invites for the reception.

Nikhil Murugan, a close friend of mine took care of photography and things during the reception. Most of the planning was done perfectly because of my father-in-law, Mr. Subramaniyam. He will be our mentor at Plan B and lead us; he is really good at planning weddings.

Having your own wedding planning company, how was it planning your own wedding? Weddings are not like the usual events were you exactly know what comes after what and how much time it will take! With a whole lot of rituals and things coming up and a whole lot of things to be managed, now I know what can go wrong and what can go right!

It was a great learning experience. It was really hectic but when everything went well! This happiness is something I will cherish for a long long time!!! I am looking forward to working on weddings now!

Tips for the brides: Never try anything new on your face because it's your wedding. You may never know how your skin will react to it and it will spoil everything and generally, relax and do your best. Put on your smile and you will be the most beautiful bride!

Emotional moment: As every bride would say, the thali moment was the most emotional one, when all the tears of joy flow down uncontrollably!

What are your plans for honeymoon? We are leaving to Bangkok tonight! With a lot of shoot dates lining up we wanted to a break for 20 days soon after the wedding but we cut it to a 7 days break to Krabi, Bangkok and a few other places. We are looking forward for a lot of shopping because if it were 20 days we would have gone somewhere really exotic. With just a week, we thought why not just take a couple of t-shirts and shop the rest there!
