From Medical Batch-Mates To Happily Ever-Afters

Anuprakash, the groom a radiologist from Nagercoil and Arthy, the bride a family practitioner born and raised in Chicago met in their first year of medical school at Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai. How two countries met and triumphed in love is the beautiful journey that we’re about to read. Let’s hear it from the bride herself.

“I perused my MD in family practice in the US and Anuprakash in Bangalore. Our love story continued for 10 years even though we had distance. We continued a long-distance relationship which ended in marriage with both families’ consent.

Wedding shopping:

My Mehendi outfit was designed by Olivia in Anna nagar, Chennai. Floral jewelry and my makeup and hair were made by Rachnas beauty studio.

Mehendi was done by Munira Mehandi in Madurai, who we got a hold of through Tamil bridal guide. It was a very brief function that took place in our terrace and the theme was a yellow and orange one.

My outfits were all amazing. It matched out the Aladdin theme of royal purple and turquoise. I was complimented that I really did look like princess Jasmine.

Maapilai azhaippu grand entrance of groom was on a beautifully decorated elephant. My entrance was on a beautiful palak and my sister Anuja, nieces Swetha and Kabila welcomed me with a fusion dance.

Entertainment: The ever-so beautiful, charismatic and funny Priyanka from Vijay TV hosted the event. Super singer Bharath and Rakshitha, Kalaka povadu yaaru Nisha and Palani, everyone did a great job.

Photographer and videographer was none other than the great @studio-vaibhava#. They made everything beautiful. Knew which moments to capture and did an absolute amazing job. Couldn’t thank them enough. They also made us a beautiful wedding trailer.

Invitations were from lovely cards in Madurai.

The hardest part of the wedding were the clothes. We were nervous as to how it’ll all turn out. Wedding planning was more fun than stressful. We picked people who we thought we could trust. So, everything went smoothly.

I kept myself hydrated since I had just come from the US in July. I had to be extra careful so I wouldn’t fall sick. Vitamin C serum and a luxury diamond facial kept my skin glowing. Biggest trick is to keep hydrated. Don’t be stressed becuse everything will fall into place.

A big thank you to my parents Veeriah and Saroja Baskaran, sisters, Prabha and Anuja, brother in law Ramkumar and nieces Swetha and Kabila for making everything a huge success and making the wedding a fairytale. Couldn’t have done it without them.

We went to Rome and Paris for our honeymoon. Rome was absolutely beautiful. Paris wasn’t what we expected but we definitely made the best of our trip there. We definitely recommend going to Italy to all the newly-weds.
