A Fashion Designer’s Customised Wedding Ceremony

Chennai based fashion designer Adithi Udayakumar got married a few months ago. She owns Adiva, a customised bridal line. You can only imagine how amazing her own wedding attires can be! Learn the story of Adithi’s wedding from here!

Hi I'm Adithi Udayakumar and my husband is Siddarth Paliath. I'm a bridal wear designer and my brand name is Adiva Design Studio. It's a bespoke couture studio. Siddarth is a financer and works with A&P group, a film distribution firm based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

I'm from Chennai while his hometown is in Tirunelveli. He's a very romantic and humorous person. That is probably what I like most about him. In contrast I’m an extremely chilled out and fun loving person. We met at a common friend’s birthday party at Star Rock resto bar. We fell in love and got married. Simple as that. Ours was entirely a love marriage.

We got married on the second of November 2016 at Woodlands Janani Krishna Hall. Since I'm a designer, I was involved in every little detail of the wedding planning process. Everything was customised according to my personal preferences. From the invitation cards to wedding trousseau, stage décor and return gifts.

To begin with, I had to decide on a colour theme for my wedding function. I chose a combination of Tiffany blue, coral and gold. Once I decided on the venue and colour theme, I chose DC Chandirasekar to be my wedding decorator. My Sangeet ceremony was held at Amethyst Folly hall Chennai on October 30th 2016. For catering, we hired Gnanambikai caterers.

For the outfits, I went out of my way and chose unique fabrics from places like Delhi and Jaipur. I got them dyed and hand embroidered at my own design unit in Chennai. All my bridal wear was by Adiva Design Studio. I purchased my wedding saree from @tulsi-silks-1#, Chennai.

All my precious metal jewellery was from GRT Jewellers. They have exquisite collections in Gold, Diamond, Platinum and Silver. Another place I found for my bridal jewels was Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers @vbj# in Bengaluru. I bought fashion jewellery from @kreative-soch# , Delhi and Neelam Studio.

My wedding photographer was from @vipin#. They did a great job of capturing the best moments. Makeup and mehendi was by Neelam Studio. My advice to soon-to-be brides is to plan ahead of the wedding and make sure everything is in place beforehand so you can be relaxed on your wedding day.
