What is Fashion according to you?
To be precise, I must say, more than the word fashion it is the word style that excites me. Because, fashion is still just the by-product of style. Style is one thing that's unique for every individual. It accents to the personality of a person. So it's the style that strikes me before fashion does!
How inclined to fashion is Chennai?
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give Chennai a 5. Chennai mostly seems to be at a slow pace on a path to fashion. It's on the right direction, however, if it picked up a little speed that would make a lot of difference.
The Fashion Sense in Chennai, compared to other cities?
Chennai, I would say, could do a lot better. One thing is that, we shy away too easy. If we could all come together and help in picking up a good speed with the road to fashion, Chennai would have it all.
How did you get inspired to work with Wedding Dresses?
First of all, there is nothing that can make us happy, than a beautiful bride wanting VK Design as her wedding attire. It's only because of the people who have had a wonderful VK experience and come up to us, that we started out on Wedding Attire work. More than anything, it's the trust that the Bride or the Groom honours us with, by making VK part of their memorable day. We never did any publicizing so it's either by the VK experience or by word of the mouth.
Who are some of your celebrity clients?
Well, we've designed for quite a few. From the top of my head, Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Surya, Shankar Mahadevan, Siddharth Mahadevan, A.R.Rahaman, Lisa Ray, Christian Louboutin, Chetan Bhagat and many more.
About your designs?
We love to do the best and give our clients the best experience of our designs. But I'd rather have them tell about us.
Your advice to all the Brides-To-Be out there?
It is not at all bad to be serious about a situation that involves your wedding attire. But some moments are best lived out in the fullest. As much as your Wedding Attire topic is serious, do not forget to have fun throughout the hunting and deciding process. Explore new styles, experiment and indulge! Or as I would advise, Indulge VK!
